WASHINGTON – Today small business owners told a key Congressional subcommittee that their companies and others like them play a vital role in meeting the needs of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).Witnesses and lawmakers also discussed ways to strengthen and improve the critical partnership between small companies and NASA as the agency prepares to celebrate its 58th anniversary later this month.

The hearing will examine how business accelerators help entrepreneurs, startups, and small businesses grow and create jobs, while also offering Members of the Committee the opportunity to hear from organizations that are directly involved in offering private sector resources to small businesses.

Chairman Cresent Hardy has scheduled a hearing of the Committee on Small Business Subcommittee on Investigations, Oversight and Regulations titled, Opportunity Rising: the FAA’s New Regulatory Framework for Commercial Drone Operations. The hearing is scheduled to begin at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 in Room 2360 of the Rayburn House Office Building.

The hearing will focus on broadband deployment efforts by small telecommunications companies that traditionally supply the bulk of such services to the most rural parts of America.

Chairman Steve Knight has scheduled a hearing of the Committee on Small Business Subcommittee on Contracting and Workforce titled, "Learning from History: Ideas to Strengthen and Modernize the HUBZone Program" The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 2, 2017 in Room 2360 of the Rayburn House Office Building.

In order to ensure the effectiveness of
the 7(a) Loan Program in helping creditworthy small businesses obtain capital, this hearing will
offer Members of the Subcommittee the opportunity to hear directly from financial institutions
participating in the program. The hearing will also explore the program from its requirements to
its recent growth.

On Wednesday, March 2nd, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. the Committee on Small Business will hold a markup up titled: Views and Estimates Meeting 115th Congress. The meeting will be held in Room 2360 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
